Every year, the Toronto Star acknowledges the work produced by outstanding high school newspapers through the High School Newspaper Awards (HSNA). The awards are sectioned into 21 distinct categories ranging from classical writing styles including reporting and opinion writing, to more liberal and light-hearted sections, such as illustration and humour. More information can be found here.
In 2012, The Reckoner won 6 awards, including “Best Electronic Newspaper” and “Best Electronic Layout and Design”.
