You’re an evil that slowly creeps into blood streams,
We don’t notice the symptoms until it’s too late,
And by then, you’ve already taken over.
Left us with nothing, with no one.

You’re a monster.

You take and take and take,
And when you finally leave, we’re nothing but an empty shell
An echo that’s faded away.

You devour everything in sight and leave behind a parasite,
Confident that while you’re busy spreading your disease, we’ll destroy ourselves in your absence.

After all, you know the truth that’s buried inside each of us.
We snatch and hoard,
Cheat and steal,
Lie and goad.

We don’t know if you did this to us or just brought out what was already there, but
We slowly became something you looked upon with pride.
