Listening to the same words I’ve heard a thousand times. To the rhythms so catchy that they’re impossible to get out of my head. Concentrating on music and only the music. Getting lost in it is a thing of the past, now that school has started.

With the ball rolling smoothly into the new school year, it feels as if there is never time to just lay back and relax. Friends are only ever seen quickly passing by in the hallways shouting, “I’m late, I’m late!” Every evening is spent sitting at a desk staring at a screen, lunch and after-school are filled with meetings and clubs of sorts, and there’s always something that needs to be done. This makes me wish for the carefree, bright summers of the past. Now with the gray, murky sky, there is little hope that less stress will be upon us. And the clouds are right.

Sometimes, spending time with older people makes me realize that my life seems filled with absolutely no work at all. What am I to say that I am loaded with work compared to people who take AP Physics? I actually have endless amounts of free time I can use to do something productive. Instead I choose to fritter away with useless distractions. So what I’m trying to say is, treasure the minute or two of free time you get, because with every progressing year, you’re going to be looking back and wishing to relive the old days.
